“We the Peoples” is an international campaign of civil society organizations and citizens that calls for the creation of a UN World Citizens’ Initiative.

The campaign was launched in 2019 and so far over 200 groups from across the world have signed a statement addressed to the UN and UN member states.

A study commissioned by the campaign explains how a UN World Citizens’ Initiative can be implemented.

The campaign is a joint initiative of Democracy Without Borders, CIVICUS and Democracy International, three civil society networks dedicated to citizen participation, democracy and civic rights.
